Orange Kenya cell phone network

Since Kenya stopped relying on safaricom ltd as the sole provider of communication among the cell phone subscribers, cell phone users have relatively enjoyed lower tariff charges one being from the orange network.
This is really a good development as far as competition is concerned. However the services being provided among the service providers differ from one company to the other. Most of the Kenyans seem to assume that safaricom is the better option as it ‘s brand is, but I beg to differ.
Orange Kenya is one force you cant ignore given their thrilling tariff charges both on data and calling rates. Although orange has yet to introduce a money transfer service for their cell phone subscribers, there are much you can gain by being an orange subscriber. One best example is their data rates of which I consider to be the best the market can offer. Starting with te lowest data bundle one can purchase at ksh. 150 for 50mb of data this is indeed the best compared with others like the biggest market share safaricom of which has its lowest data bundle offer at ksh. 250 for 40mb which is relatively very high.
One can argue that it is fair in comparison to their speed of which safariom huawei E160 modem owner receives data with up to 3.6mb speed compared to orange 236kb but hey bundle is bundle and 236kb is not that bad unless you want to download some very large files at a reasonable speed.
Orange started by offering CDMA services that were really un popular given the vast dominance of the gsm network both network service providers and handsets available at the market. However orange will have to give in to competition and introduce more practicable services to the market considering its 3g plus of which most of the Kenyans have the slightest idea of what exactly it entails.
Zain Kenya which is the second biggest market share after safariom will soon be availing its 3g network of which they acquired a license recently. This was a brave move by the zain management and surely they are going to reap great from their hard work
