The T-Mobile G1 was the first phone to run on the Android operating system. The G1 has a large 3.2 inch screen and a full QWERTY keypad which slides out from the side. The main idea behind this launch was to bring out an Android phone in the market which focuses more on the operating system than the other features on the phone.

Weighing 158 grams the T-mobile G1 has physical dimensions 117 x 55.7 x 17.1. The design of this phone is not compact but a bit different from usual phones. It has a titled chin in the front with a side slide keypad just above it. Just below the screen on the tilted chin we have 4 buttons and one trackball similar to that in Blackberry phones. The screen of T-Mobile G1 is bright and displays each detail sharply. Above this the screen looks clear and precise in bright sunlight also.

The user interface of T-Mobile G1 is the best it has. The OS runs all applications or programs at the same time. You will never feel that any application is ever closed because even if it is the OS restores it to the same place where it left.

The T-Mobile G1 comes packed with a descent 3 MP camera which has the capability of producing good quality images with lesser noise levels. But one major drawback of the camera is that it does not support video recording. The web browsing experience on T-Mobile is delightful. You can quickly surf through the pages with its clean interface but it lacks flash support. The phone has all connectivity essentials including HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB version 2.0.

Overall the T-Mobile G1 is fast, clean, Interactive, user friendly, and powerful GSM phone but there are other android phones with better technical specifications also present in the market. This is still a good phone and worth considering.
